Our Story
NextIF began quietly in early 2025, founded not on hype, but on a clear observation of the industry landscape.
Founders Yusuf Abdulwasiu and Safiya Isyaku Umar recognized a recurring pattern: there were successful pioneers at the top of the Islamic finance industry and committed enthusiasts at the bottom, but the path connecting them was broken.
"Young talent had the drive but lacked the 'compass' — the specific guidance to navigate the complex world of Shariah-compliant finance and fintech."
In just our first eight months, we expanded from a local initiative to a global community of nearly 1,500 members across 40+ countries.
